Amy Schmitz Receives Award for Outstanding Scholarly Work from ABA
Professor Amy Schmitz was recently awarded the 2025 American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Dispute Resolution’s Award for Outstanding Scholarly Work. The award is one of the highest honors given in dispute resolution. She was presented with the award at the ABA Dispute Resolution Section’s Spring Conference.
Schmitz was recognized based on her excellent scholarship and her embodiment of “scholarship in action.” Her work has brought theory into practice and helped shape the law over a sustained period of time.
"I’m deeply honored by this award,” said Schmitz. “In times of divide, I’m especially grateful for the chance to contribute scholarship that doesn’t just study conflict but helps transform it."
Schmitz is the John Deaver Drinko-Baker & Hostetler Chair in Law at Moritz. A distinguished scholar, she has published over 75 articles in law journals and books. Read more about Professor Schmitz here.
