Amy Schmitz Begins Service with International Organizations
As the new year starts, Professor Amy Schmitz is beginning service with two internationally recognized organizations.
Schmitz was selected to join the American Arbitration Association-International Centre for Dispute Resolution (AAA-ICDR) AI Ambassador Program. This new initiative brings together a select group of forward-thinking dispute resolution experts to help shape the responsible use of artificial intelligence in dispute resolution. Schmitz will contribute her expertise through working groups, blogging, policy work, and other outlets.
Additionally, Schmitz has joined the Board of Directors for the International Council for Online Dispute Resolution. This group creates standards for ethical AI and is active in driving policy and programming about technology and dispute resolution.
“I am honored to join the AAA-ICDR AI Ambassador Program and serve on the ICODR Board of Directors,” Schmitz shared. “These roles provide exciting opportunities to advance responsible and innovative uses of AI in dispute prevention and resolution, while ensuring fairness and access to justice. This work complements my teaching in Arbitration and JusticeTech, as well as my scholarship on Digital Dispute System Design and AI in Civil Dispute Resolution. Above all, thesepositions will allow me to share cutting-edge insights with my students and the Journal I advise, preparing the next generation of leaders and innovators in AI.”
