Amy Schmitz Awarded Fulbright U.S. Specialist Award

Professor Amy Schmitz has been awarded a 2024-2025 Fulbright U.S. Specialist award to examine “Access to Justice in the AI and Digital Era” in Granada, Spain.
Schmitz will be collaborating with faculty at the University of Grenada to develop a program about AI and dispute resolution. This is Schmitz’s second time receiving the award – her first focused on “Researching and Collaborating on AI, Data Analytics and the Law” in the Netherlands.
Schmitz holds the John Deaver Drinko-Baker & Hostetler Endowed Chair in Law at Moritz. She serves as co-director of the Translational Data Analytics Institute Responsible Data Science Community of Practice and is the director of the JusticeTech Capstone and Fellowship Program, while also working with the Program on Dispute Resolution, Program on Data Governance, and the Divided Community Project. A distinguished scholar, Professor Schmitz has published over 75 articles in law journals and numerous books, including her newest work, The Arbitration Conversation. She also hosts a highly regarded podcast that has reached over 100 webisodes, and over 16 audio podcasts.
