Third in Appellate Series to be held Nov. 7

Post-briefing issues will be covered in the third session of the Appellate Strategies and Perspectives CLE series, presented Nov. 7 by Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP and The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

The session, held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Barrister Club, 25 W. 11th Ave., will cover the following topics:

  • Achieving Success and Avoiding Pitfalls at Various Steps of an Appeal
  • Contemporary Appellate Trends and Issues
  • A Judicial Perspective

Alexandra T. Schimmer, associate vice president and deputy general counsel at Ohio State, and Donald B. Tobin, the Frank E. and Virginia H. Bazler Designated Professor in Business Law, will reflect on their experiences as appellate litigators and law clerks for judges sitting on the U.S. Court of Appeals. Justice Sharon Kennedy will conclude the program by providing perspective from the bench on these issues. Other presenters include Nina Webb-Lawton, Marcel C. Duhamel, and Mary C. Henkel.

Space is limited, and registration is needed by Friday, Nov. 1.
