Scores of Volunteers Needed for February Competition

The Moritz College of Law on Feb. 11-14 will host the Midwest Regional of the National Trial Competition, a premier trial advocacy tournament in the United States. All competition rounds will be held in downtown Columbus courthouses. The College will welcome 28 teams from 14 different law schools in Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky to participate. This is a massive event and the College needs help from scores of volunteers.

Volunteer judges, who are normally attorneys, are needed to judge sessions that last three to four hours. The competition will also need volunteers to act the part of witnesses in the trials (these do not need to be attorneys). If you (or someone you know) may be interested in helping the College, please contact Anne Doyle, the College’s Director of Moot Court and Lawyering Skills Programs, at

The National Trial Competition, established in 1975 by the Texas Young Lawyers Association, is the one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in the United States. The Midwest Regional is co-sponsored by the Moritz College of Law and the American College of Trial Lawyers.
