Impact. That is the goal of our faculty. At Ohio State, our law faculty excels at both teaching and research, and they are fully immersed in the most pressing challenges of law and policy. Whether developing new legal minds in the classroom or writing on the issues of the day, our world-renowned faculty advance understanding of a wide range of local, national, and international legal issues.
Our 50+ full-time faculty enjoyed significant professional success before entering law teaching. They are former law clerks on the U.S. Supreme Court and other courts, have worked in a variety of levels in federal and state government, played leading roles in government agencies, corporations, and nonprofit organizations, and advised clients at leading law firms from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. As scholars, they are award-winning authors and pioneering researchers who publish and present, serve on boards and commissions, litigate and draft, counsel and advise. They bring their innovative research and practical experience to the classroom to contribute to exceptional learning opportunities.
“The conversations both in an out of the classroom are stimulating and provocative,” said 2L George Murray. “Professors keep things very interesting and I love working with those around me. It is truly the people who make Moritz what it is.”
Our professors are called upon by policymakers to testify and consult, and by the media to provide perspective and insight. They bring the legal challenges of today to the classroom for analysis and debate.
