Opportunities at Moritz College of Law
Externships
Gain practical experience and earn academic credit in the judiciary, government offices, nonprofit organizations, and corporate legal departments.
Clinics
Work closely with faculty who provide expertise in the theory and practice of a specific area of law. Alumni says clinics are among their most valuable law school experiences.
National Security Simulation
In this intense cross-disciplinary experience, students work with and are mentored by practitioners to manage real-world international and domestic security challenges in real time.
Washington, D.C. Summer Program
Learn while being immersed in the the heart of our nation's government. Students complete externships matched to their interests, plus a related 2-credit course about the numerous ways to utilize a JD from Moritz.
Journals
Working on a law review is a rite of passage for many law students. Moritz produces five legal journals, each filled with innovative and relevant scholarly articles by top legal minds across the country and the world.
Study Abroad
Moritz partners with universities in Europe to give students exposure to international law and legal ethics. Up to 6 credits hours may be earned in this summer programs, often rooted in Oxford University.
Moot Court and Lawyering
Hone your lawyering skills and be part of a highly competitive team of fellow students. Moritz has excelled in these competitions across the country. Help continue this legacy, dispute resolution, and argumentation.
JusticeTech
JusticeTech connects law and technology to tackle access to justice challenges facing Ohio communities. At the heart of the program is the JusticeTech Capstone Practicum. In this hands-on course, law and computer science students team up to design solutions for real legal issues.
Expungement and Beyond
In this practicum, students engage directly with Ohio’s evolving criminal record relief laws and processes and develop a functional understanding of record relief at the national (state-by-state) and federal level.
