Greif Fellowship in Juvenile Human Trafficking
Born in Greece and raised in North Canton, Ohio, Katie graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history. Growing up Katie tried to assist others through volunteer work. During her undergraduate studies, she became interested in public interest law while volunteering for the Legal Aid Society of Columbus. Katie attended law school to help improve the lives of others. During law school, she externed for the Department of Justice, Judge Guy Cole, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. She also had the opportunity to work for the Franklin County Public Defender’s Office and the Columbus City Attorney’s Office. Katie graduated with her Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in May of 2019.
Katie applied for the Greif Fellowship to advocate for and support children who are victims of human trafficking. After the completion of the Fellowship, Katie plans to continue to be an advocate for those whose voices are not heard in the criminal justice system.
