An essential element of the Ohio State Law Journal’s mission is to encourage and provide a forum for the publication of Journal members’ academic scholarship. In keeping with this goal, the Journal Publication Selection Committee selects approximately ten Journal member Notes for publication in the Ohio State Law Journal and Furthermore, the Ohio State Law Journal online supplement. The Journal publishes Notes written only by Journal members.
Through an anonymous selection process, the Journal Publication Selection Committee considers many aspects of each paper, including the timeliness of the issue discussed, the novelty of the author’s argument and analysis, the appeal of the topic to a generalist legal audience, the quality of the writing, and the paper’s compliance with current Bluebook standards.
Journal Staff members are required to submit a Note for publication consideration to fulfill the writing component of their Journal experience. The writing process begins in August and Notes are due in March.
