Sidebar Gerry Beyer ’80 elected to Estate Planning Hall of Fame
Gerry W. Beyer ’80, the Governor Preston E. Smith Regents Professor of Law at Texas Tech University, was elected to the Estate Planning Hall of Fame by the National Association of Estates Planners & Councils for his exemplary service to the field of estate planning. He also received several other awards this past year, including being named Professor of the Year by the Texas Tech University School of Law chapter of Phi Alpha Delta and the Hispanic Law Students Association. He also received the President’s Academic Achievement Award from Texas Tech University and the Gardener DeMallie Award from the Virginia Continuing Legal Education Committee for outstanding service to continuing legal education in Virginia. Beyer’s blog, “Wills, Trusts, and Estates Prof Blog,” was also named to the ABA Blawg 100 Hall of Fame.
