Stephen Francis ’83 was recently appointed as Columbus’ first chief diversity officer by Mayor Andrew Ginther.

From The Columbus Dispatch:

“Francis, now manager of corporate affairs for Honda, will start in mid-February. He seemed humbled by the selection and at times was emotional during his speech.

‘It’s clear that the social and political climate in all parts of this country is in the toilet and it’s laced with racial hatred and religious phobia and division,’ said Francis, son of former city attorney John Francis.

‘It’s fracturing us. There can’t be any fence-sitters on Mayor Ginther’s watch.'”
