2016 Bodiker Lecture

The David H. Bodiker Lecture on Criminal Justice will feature Jonathan A. Rapping, professor of law at John Marshall Law School, presenting “Giving Voice to the Voiceless: The Power of the Public Defender to Transform the Criminal Justice System.” Rapping is the founder and president of Gideon’s Promise, whose mission is to transform the criminal justice system by building a movement of public defenders who provide equal justice for marginalized communities. He is also the recipient of a 2014 MacArthur Foundation Genius Fellowship. Rapping received his J.D. from George Washington University School of Law, an M.P.A. from Princeton University, and a B.A. from the University of Chicago.
