Washington, D.C., Summer Program

The Summer Experience in Washington, D.C.

Students in previous summers have given very positive reviews of their time in Washington, D.C. Students in the program, often mixed with some of the George Washington students, frequently went out together after class and also met on other occasions.

The program has organized a number of field trips, including: tours of CIA headquarters or the Pentagon; a tour of the Capitol; a session at the Holocaust Memorial Museum on the role of lawyers in the Third Reich; and social outings to a professional soccer game and elsewhere.

There have also been social events hosted by the Program Director and by Moritz alumni at a law firm. A similar schedule will take place in 2009.

In the summer of 2009, classes tentatively will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, likely from 6:00 to 7:50 p.m., from May 19 until mid-July.

Housing
About half the students have rented dorm rooms at George Washington, Georgetown, or American University. Students at George Washington receive the GW student rate. Other students found housing with friends or family or in the large D.C. market for summer sub-lets. Information on housing will be provided to students who enroll in the program in time for rental around March or April.
