Law and Capital Markets @ Ohio State is a program of The Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. The nonpartisan program aims to further the study of capital markets and corporate law. The program hosts multiple events throughout the year in Columbus and key financial centers. These events generate open and vigorous exchange about the leading problems and issues dealmakers face and are commonly co-sponsored by private organizations.

Raymond W. Perez, General Counsel, Division Manager, Corporate Services, Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC
Raymond W. Perez is General Counsel & Secretary of Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC (HMA). He also serves as Compliance Officer and Division Manager of the Corporate Services Division which includes the Legal Department, Corporate Affairs and Communication Department and the Facilities Department.
Mr. Perez serves as General Counsel with responsibility for all legal matters impacting the company and also serves as Compliance Officer overseeing the Business Practices and Ethics program. As division manager he is responsible for the Corporate Affairs and Communication Department which manages governmental relations, community relations, media relations and internal communications. Mr. Perez also oversees the operations of the Facilities Department which is responsible for all building operations including utility purchases, construction engineering and operational upkeep. Mr. Perez is a member of Honda’s North American 401(k) Retirement Committee, Honda’s North American Diversity Committee and Chairman of the HMA Philanthropy Committee.
Mr. Perez joined Honda in 1991. Prior to joining the Alabama operation in 2000, Mr. Perez served as Counsel and Manager within the legal department of Honda of America Mfg. (HAM) in Ohio. Before joining Honda, Mr. Perez practiced law in Columbus, Ohio with the firm of Schottenstein, Zox & Dunn, LLP. Mr. Perez is a member of the Birmingham, American and Ohio Bar Associations and has served as past chairman of the American Bar Association’s Equal Pay Act Subcommittee. He is also an Authorized In-House Counsel in the State of Alabama.
Mr. Perez obtained his juris doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1987 where he was Executive Editor of the Journal on Dispute Resolution and graduated from MiamiUniversity in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a concentration in Finance.
