Braving snow and the wilds of Ann Arbor, Michigan, 3Ls Brittany Doggett, Amanda Parker, and Whitney Siehl, and 2L Mingzi Ouyang competed in the Great Lakes Mediation Tournament on March 1-3, 2013. The team picked up new skills as advocates and mediators, networked with fellow law students, and Amanda Parker tied for the Best Mediator award.

The tournament began on Friday afternoon with a mediation clinic led by Dick Calkins, founder of the International Academy of Dispute Resolution. In each round of the tournament, the team was split into two separate rooms, with one group playing attorney and client, and a separate team member acting as a co-mediator with a student from another law school. Mediation professionals provided judging and feedback to all of the competitors.
