Leadership Skills Workshop--Business Development

Mark Beese is President of Leadership for Lawyers, LLC, a consultancy focused on helping lawyers and other professionals become better leaders and business developers. He provides training, coaching and consultation to firms in the areas of leadership development, business development and marketing.
Mark has more than 20 years experience as an in-house chief marketing officer/marketing director for professional services firms.

After attending this 3 hour workshop, each participant will:

1.Understand a framework for consultative selling, which is based on gaining a clear understanding of the client’s needs and developing a custom proposal and solution. This framework is used in many professional services settings, including consulting, accounting and law.

2.Be able to succinctly deliver a ‘Verbal Business Card’ to describe her/his services and value to clients, particularly in networking situations.

3.Practice how to build trust, rapport and make a positive first impression using Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques.

4.Learn techniques for “working a room” and networking with a purpose.

5.Learn techniques for using social media such as Linkedin.com for building a professional network (and leveraging it to get a job and build a book of business).

6.Understand the components of a personal business development plan.
