Director of the Department of Insurance, Mary Jo Hudson joins PLL Students to chat about leadership lessons. Hudson was appointed to Governor Ted Strickland’s cabinet in December of 2006, and since that time has lead the Department of Insurance to make great strides in protecting insurance consumers and promoting a healthy insurance market. Prior to her appointment, Director Hudson served on Columbus City Council from 2004 to 2006. Director Hudson also practiced law for eighteen years, working in a private firm setting, at the Ohio Department of Insurance, and as General Counsel for the Office of the Ohio Insurance Liquidator.

Mr. Lazear has extensive Merger and Acquisition experience, including the negotiation and documentation of hundreds of transactions. He has led buy side, sell side and Management Buyout transactions for over 25 years.

Leadership students heard Professor Swire talk about his time spent in the administration, and learned what happens behind the scenes in the Obama Administration.
