“Incubators: Function and Future” is the central topic for this year’s Ohio State Entrepreneurial Business Law Journal symposium, scheduled for March 29 at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
Scholars will convene to discuss and debate the legal and economic issues facing business incubators, the cutting-edge organizations engaged in supporting startup companies through the tumultuous early stages of business development until each company has secured the sufficient financial, human, and physical resources to succeed on its own. Incubators provide assistance to these companies through various means, including: access to capital, physical space, business development coaching, and networking connections. They have become increasingly popular among startups over the last several years because their infusion of aid comes at the most precarious stage for new companies — the beginning.
Throughout the symposium, distinguished speakers from across the country will contribute to panels on detailing incubation financing, intellectual property concerns, governance issues, and incubation as a tool to encourage the development of solo practitioners.
Attending the symposium is free, and CLE credit is pending. The symposium will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the William B. Saxbe Law Auditorium, located in Drinko Hall at 55 W. 12th Ave.
