The National Trial Competition team of 2Ls Gus Lazares and Kathryn Wallrabenstein came in first out 22 teams in a regional competition held Feb. 15-17 at the University of Akron. They were voted best trial advocacy team in five straight trials and received “best advocate” votes from 14 out of 15 lawyers/judges.
The National Trial Competition was established in 1975 to encourage and strengthen law students’ advocacy skills and designed to expose students to the nature of trial practice. The 2013 National Trial Competition will be held in San Antonio April 3-7.
Lazares and Wallrabenstein will go on to San Antonio to represent Region 7, which includes Michigan and Ohio, and The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
