Panel to tackle voter suppression issues

It’s one of the hottest topics in this year’s presidential election, and Election Law @ Moritz is as timely as ever with a Sept. 24 panel discussion on “The Politics of Voter Suppression: Defending and Expanding Americans’ Right to Vote,” featuring noted scholar Tova Wang and Ohio Rep. Kathleen Clyde ’08.
Wang is a senior democracy fellow at Demos and a democracy fellow at The Century Foundation. Through research and writings, she has made significant contributions to the areas of civil rights and liberties, immigration, campaign finance reform, and media reform. She is the author of The Politics of Voter Suppression: Defending and Expanding Americans’ Right to Vote, and her commentary has appeared in numerous media outlets, including news programs with the three national broadcast stations, CNN, MSNBC, andNational Public Radio.
Clyde represents the 68th House District in the Ohio General Assembly, where she is a member of the State Government & Elections Committee Subcommittee on Redistricting, the Redistricting Task Force, and the Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission.
The panel will be moderated by Daniel P. Tokaji, the Robert M. Duncan/Jones Day Designated Professor of Law and a senior fellow at Election Law @ Moritz.
