Contact: Barbara Peck, (614) 292-0283

Distinguished University Professor Ruth Colker, an expert in disability law, will discuss use of the term “learning disability” in an upcoming webinar on Thursday, Jan. 19.
Colker, the Heck Faust Memorial Chair in Constitutional Law at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, will examine how the term affects struggling readers and writers in public schools in her presentation, “The Learning Disabilities Mess.” Participants can listen in or, if they like, ask questions at the end.
Author of nine books already, Colker is preparing to publish another, tentatively titled Disabled Education: A Critical Analysis of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. She is a frequent guest on National Public Radio and has been interviewed by journalists across the country.
The webinar is free and sponsored by Lexercise. To sign up for Colker’s presentation, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Jan. 19, click here.
