Edward Marks, managing attorney for Legal Aid Line, a project of Advocates for Basic Legal Equality Inc., Toledo, talks about avoiding the "pandora's box" when defending indigent foreign nationals.
Attorneys who either work in the area of public service or who have shown a dedication to pro bono work were honored at a reception on Tuesday, September 30 at the Moritz College, as part of the Pro Bono Research Group’s Woodside Speaker Series.
Kimberly Skaggs '93 was recognized with the Alumni Public Service Award for her career commitment to public service. Skaggs' most recent work is with the Equal Justice Foundation.
Public interest attorneys Ed Marks and Frank Krajenke spoke on the role of technology as a networking tool for lawyers working for the public interest and defending indigent foreign nationals in Ohio.
The reception was co-sponsored by the Pro Bono Research Group and Office of Professional Development.
