Two Moritz 2Ls recently finished fifth place in the American Bar Association Law Student Division Negotiation Competition in Boston.
Orlie Benjamin and Drew LaFramboise were just two points from advancing to the competition’s final round. “Drew and Orlie put a lot of time in preparing for this and the prior competitions,” said John Minter, the Langdon Fellow in Dispute Resolution at Moritz and the team’s advisor. “They, and Moritz, have a lot to be proud of.”
Twenty-four teams competed in the national competition. Benjamin and LaFramboise won the Lawrence Negotiation Competition at Moritz in October. They then finished second in the ABA Region 6 Negotiation Competition, also held at Moritz, in early November.
On Feb. 13, the Benajamin-LaFramboise duo advanced to the top 16 teams in the nation. In their final competition, they were two points shy of advancing to the four-team finals. Northwestern University won the national competition.
LaFramboise is from Greenville, Ohio and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton. Benjamin is from Bexley, Ohio, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.
