Via Op-Eds, media interviews, and blogs, Moritz College of Law faculty members have been active providing their analysis of the recent financial crisis and the federal government’s actions to mend the damaged market.
Professor Dale Oesterle has written several times on the topic on his blog, Business Law Prof Blog. Oesterle also had an Opinion Editorial published in the Legal Times on Sept. 15. To read the piece, visit this link (free registration required). Oesterle was quoted in a Sept. 22 story on Law360.com at this link (registration required).
Visiting Professor Steven Davidoff also has been chiming in on his blog. Prof. Davidoff writes a regular column for The New York Times “DealBook” site as “The Deal Professor,” which primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions. Prof. Davidoff was also a featured guest on WNYC’s The Takeaway on Tuesday morning. Visit this link to hear an archived recording of the show.
The Moritz Business Law Society will hold its second session in a series regarding the crisis. This noon session, featuring Prof. Oesterle, will be in Drinko Room 246 on Thursday, Sept. 25 and will specifically focus on the Fed’s bailout.
Also, Professor Peter Shane was quoted in a National Law Journal story about whether powers given to the U.S. treasury secretary in the federal government’s proposed bailout bill are constitutional. Read the story at this link.
