Students from six law schools from around the country will compete this weekend at the Moritz College of Law in the ABA Regional Representation in Mediation Competition.
The Moritz Moot Court Governing Board is hosting the two-day event. Teams will arrive in Columbus on Friday night and the competition begins Saturday morning at 8 a.m in various rooms throughout Drinko Hall. The top two teams from Saturday will then advance to the Sunday final held at the Barrister Club starting at 8 a.m. The competition’s champion team will, in April, represent the region in the national competition in Seattle.
Two teams will represent the Moritz College of Law. 3Ls Amy Tulk and Tom Oakley are on one team, while 3Ls Avonte Camphina-Bacote and CJ Willey represent another.
Local practitioners will serve as judges and mediators. The events are free and open to the public, but spectators are asked not to wear any clothing that shows an affiliation to a particular school. Judges do not know what school they are evaluating.
For more information about the competition, contact Matthew Hannahan at hannahan.1@osu.edu.
