Professor Douglas Berman was the featured guest on NPR’s Talk of the Nation Thursday, Nov. 1, to discuss whether race has led to inequalities in criminal sentences. The show highlighted statistics that show inequities in sentences handed down across the country.
"One of the extraordinary ironies to where we find ourselves now is that it was movements for greater equality and uniformity in the criminal justice system that, in part, explained why the numbers have become as dramatic as they have," Berman said on the show.
