The Moot Court and Lawyering Skills program is a student-run organization responsible for conducting all of the law school's four intramural competitions, 2L Appellate Advocacy Performance Arguments, and for overseeing the 17 Moot Court teams who compete nationally at inter-school competitions.

2L Darr Named Best Oralist in Herman Competition

2L Alexander Darr was honored as "best oralist" in the 18th Annual Herman Competition held at the Moritz College of Law. Over the past two weeks, 61 second-year students participated in the annual appellate advocacy competition. On Saturday, Feb. 28, the final arguments were held to determine the 2009 best oralist. Moritz Negotiations Team Places Fifth in Nation

Two Moritz 2Ls recently finished fifth place in the American Bar Association Law Student Division Negotiation Competition in Boston. Orlie Benjamin and Drew LaFramboise were just two points from advancing to the competition's final round. [Read More]

Moritz Students Win Best Brief Award

Moritz students Matt Hannahan, Courtney Silver, and Mike Weisenbach received the best brief award at the National Moot Court Region VI competition in Lansing, Mich., on Nov. 15 and 16. The Moritz team competed against 20 other teams from Ohio and Michigan. [Read More]
