Michael E. Moritz Law Library: Hours & Location

The Michael E. Moritz Law Library is located on the second floor of Drinko Hall, 55 West 12th Avenue (Driving Directions and Parking Information).

Below is a breakdown of our operating hours. We will announce, in advance, any departures from this schedule.

Regular Law Library Hours (2007-2008 Academic Year)

• Monday - Thursday: 7:15 a.m. - Midnight*
• Friday: 7:15 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
• Sunday: 10a.m. - Midnight

* Entrance is locked at 9pm Monday-Thursday and at 8pm Friday-Sunday. Building access is limited to OSU law students after those times.

Reference Hours
Reference Librarians are on duty at the following times during regular hours:

• Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Saturday: no reference
• Sunday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Holiday and Break Hours

Labor Day Weekend

• September 2 (Saturday): 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• September 3 (Sunday): Noon to 9:00 p.m.
• September 4 (Monday): 9:00 a.m. to Midnight

Reference service will be available on Sunday (1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Reference service will not be available on Labor Day.

Autumn Break (October 8 - October 12)
Regular Library Hours. Reference service will not be available on Sunday, October 8. Reference service will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Veteran's Day Holiday (November 12)
Regular Library Hours. Reference service will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Thanksgiving Weekend

• November 21 (Wednesday): 7:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• November 22 (Thursday): CLOSED
• November 23 (Friday): 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• November 24 (Saturday): 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• November 25 (Sunday): 10:00 a.m. to Midnight

Reference service will not be available on Friday, November 23. Reference service will be available from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25.

Inter-session (December 20 - January 6)

• Dec. 20 (Thursday): 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Dec. 21 (Friday): 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Dec. 22-25 (Saturday-Tuesday): CLOSED
• Dec. 26-28 (Wednesday-Friday): 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Dec. 29 (Saturday): Noon to 5:00 p.m.
• Dec. 30 (Sunday): CLOSED
• Dec. 31 (Monday): 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Jan. 1 (Tuesday): CLOSED
• Jan. 2-4 (Wednesday-Friday): 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Jan. 5 (Saturday): Noon to 5:00 p.m.
• Jan. 6 (Sunday): 10:00 a.m. to midnight

Reference service will be available weekdays at the normal times. The Law Library's regular hours for the Winter/Spring Semester will begin on Sunday, January 6.

Martin Luther King Day (January 14)
Regular Library Hours. Reference service will be available at the normal times.

Spring Break Hours (March 18 - March 22)

• March 14 (Friday): 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• March 15 (Saturday): 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• March 16 (Sunday): CLOSED
• March 17-20 (Monday-Thursday): 7:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• March 21 (Friday): 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• March 22 (Saturday): 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• March 23 (Sunday): 10:00 a.m. to Midnight

Reference service will be provided Monday through Friday at the normal times and on Sunday, March 23, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Summer 2008 Law Library Hours

The Moritz Law Library will observe summer hours from Wednesday, May 7 through Sunday, August 10. The Moritz Law Library's regular hours will resume Monday August 13.

• Monday - Thursday: 7:15 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.*
• Friday: 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday: Noon to 6:00 p.m.

Memorial Day (May 26)

• Monday, May 26: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No reference.

July 4th

• Thursday, July 3: 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Friday, July 4: CLOSED

*The library is open to members of the general public who are using our legal collection, however, the doors to the law school are locked at 9:00 p.m., with access into the building limited to Moritz College of Law students.

Reference Hours
During the summer, Reference Librarians will be on duty at the reference desk Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be no Reference Service on Memorial Day.
