Graham/Reese Challenge 2

Due to the overwhelming success of the first Graham/Reese Challenge, Jim Graham '52 and Gib Reese '52 have decided to extend their generosity once more.

As with the first challenge, Jim and Gib are asking fellow alumni and friends of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law to make a gift to the Annual Fund.

Jim and Gib will match new and increased gifts to the Law Annual Fund - up to $5,000 per donor through December 31, 2008. [More Information]

Investing in Momentum Campaign

Investing in Momentum
Campaign Kickoff
October 14, 2005

Now that a solid foundation has been established for the Moritz College of Law, the leadership has launched a campaign designed to fuel the Moritz momentum. Each funding priority is instrumental in advancing the quality that creates our learning environment: students, faculty, and programming. Our goal: $30 million.

Scholarship Assistance - $10 million
Ninety percent of Ohio State law students must borrow for law school and they graduate with an average of $50,000 of debt from law school alone. Some admitted students do not attend Moritz because they do not qualify for loans. To permit students with the highest-quality credentials to attend Moritz, the campaign goal is:

  • 10 new full-tuition scholarships per year
  • special assistance for students interested in public service

Recruiting and Retaining a World-Class Faculty - $12 million
The college has seven endowed chairs and five endowed professorships that honor, help retain, and recruit faculty. To bolster the faculty and offer students the highest-caliber education, the campaign goal is:

  • 12 new endowed faculty positions
  • 10 new designated professorships

Innovation in Areas of Excellence - $5.8 million
The campaign goal is to add to excellence through the following initiatives in specialized segments of the college program.

  • Business Law
  • Law Library
  • Center for Interdisciplinary Law and Policy Studies
  • International Business
  • Law Library

The college's campaign, "Investing in Momentum" was officially kicked off on October 14, 2005. [More Information]
