Scholarships & Grants

The Moritz College of Law, through the generosity of friends and alumni, annually awards more than $4.2 million in grant and scholarship assistance. Admitted applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarship assistance. Applicants who wish to be considered for a Moritz Merit Scholarship or Moritz Need-Based Grants must file the appropriate forms.

Students who wish to be considered for Moritz Need-Based Grants from the Moritz College of Law must complete the FAFSA form and complete the financial need application by the required March 1 deadline. These non-repayable need-based awards are made independently for each academic year. Therefore, a completed FAFSA and need application are required for each academic year that a student wishes to be considered for need-based financial aid.

New and continuing law students may apply for Moritz Need-Based Grants and specialized scholarships from the Moritz College of Law. Moritz Need-Based Grants are intended to help new and continuing students who have an especially high level of financial need. A few endowed awards are available to students who meet the particular criteria outlined by the donors of the awards.

Law students who were awarded merit scholarship aid upon entrance to the Moritz College of Law will have this aid renewed for the next academic year contingent upon meeting the required 2.5 GPA renewal criterion at the end of the academic year. While the Office of Student Financial Aid will provide an Award Notification letter in late April listing this award, ultimate renewal is based upon the grades for that entire academic year (autumn and winter semesters)..
