James Johnson served as the Chief Legal Officer of The Procter & Gamble Company from 1991 until his retirement in 2008. During that time, he reported to four successive Chief Executive Officers and was the principal legal and corporate governance advisor to the P&G Board of Directors. As P&G’s Chief Legal Officer, Mr. Johnson managed approximately 285 lawyers globally and served as the Co-Chair of P&G’s Ethics and Compliance Committee. Mr. Johnson joined the P&G Legal Department in 1973. He currently sits on the board of directors of Cintas, a publicly traded company that provides uniforms, apparel, and other highly specialized services to businesses.
