Lee Thomason is an assistant clinical professor of law who led the launch of the Entrepreneurial Business Law Clinic at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in January 2012. Thomason mentors third-year students who work with start-up and early-stage companies through the clinic.

A registered patent attorney, Thomason previously taught the Intellectual Property Transactions and Patent Law courses as an adjunct professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law.

After admission to the bar, Thomason clerked for a federal district judge. Then, he was associate and partner in firms in New Jersey, and he was the managing partner of an intellectual property boutique firm with offices in New Jersey, Kentucky, Texas, and Silicon Valley. More recently, he was of counsel at Frost Brown Todd, and in-house IP counsel for a NASDAQ-traded company.

Thomason is admitted to practice before six U.S. Courts of Appeals and has been lead counsel in numerous federal district courts litigating environmental, patent, IP, and other complex commercial suits. He is credentialed in commercial mediation by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution in London, and is peer-rated Preeminent 5.0 by Martindale.

Thomason has an academic interest is the public interest aspects of the granting and interpretation of patents, and his recent article "Markman Pro Publico: Friending the Courts on Patent Claim Interpretation" was published in the Summer 2011 issue of the Intellectual Property Brief of the Washington College of Law at American University.
