The Honorable John E. Hoffman Jr. serves on the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He was appointed to that position in 2000. Prior to his appointment, Judge Hoffman was a partner in the Columbus office of Arter & Hadden LLP, where he practiced primarily in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Legal Aid Society of Columbus from 1995-2000 and as chair of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges Endowment for Education from 2007 through 2009.
