Bar Exam Basics: Bar Admissions Committee Panel
Date: Tuesday, November 6, 2012
Time: 12:10 - 1:00 PM
Room/Location: Drinko 348
Contact: Katherine Kelly
This event is for 2Ls & 3Ls. Although jurisdictions differ as to the timing and nature of a character and fitness review, it is one of the most important components of the admissions process. In Ohio, you cannot take the bar exam without first receiving character & fitness approval. Your record of conduct “…must justif[y] the trust of clients, adversaries, courts and others with respect to the professional duties owed to them…” Local bar associations review applicant files, conduct personal interviews and then make recommendations about your character, fitness, and moral qualifications.
Members of the Columbus Bar Association Bar Admissions Committee will be here to discuss their role in the review process, demystify it just a bit, and provide insight as to what they look for in applicants.
