The 2012 Order of the Coif Distinguished Visitor, Heather Gerken, the J. Skelly Wright Professor of Law at Yale Law School, makes the progressive case for federalism. Professor Gerken specializes in election law, constitutional law, and civil procedure and is one of the country's leading experts on voting rights and election law, the role of groups in the democratic process, and the relationship between diversity and democracy.
The National Order of the Coif chose the Moritz College of Law to host the Distinguished Visitor, as part of its program that is designed to contribute to the intellectual life of the campus by fostering an exchange of ideas with individuals whose experiences and ideas may be expected to stimulate discussion about important issues confronting the legal profession.
