State eyes allowing teenagers voting rights
Although they'd still be prohibited from casting a ballot until they turn 18, 16- and 17-year-olds would be able to register to vote under a proposal that a lieutenant to the House Speaker Robert DeLeo described Wednesday as his top priority of the next six weeks.

The Commonwealth of Virginia hopes to make registration easier for students after the State Board of Elections unanimously passed changes to a statute regarding student voter registration.
