Kansas launches online voter registration
Kansas officials have created an online system to help residents register to vote from the convenience of their computers.

Online voter registration launched in Kansas
Kansas officials on Tuesday formally launched a new online system that they hope will make it easier for residents to register to vote and eliminate the need for casting provisional ballots.

Former state Republican Chairman Kris Kobach has officially announced his candidacy for secretary of state, leveling allegations of widespread voter fraud that the current secretary of state disputes.

State to roll out simple online option for registering to vote, changing address
Voter registration in Kansas soon will only require a computer and Internet connection. The state plans to make an announcement possibly in two weeks about the new option for voters to change their address or register for the first time, said Stephanie Meyer, a spokeswoman for Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh.

The state Senate on Thursday followed the House in approving a bill that would allow soldiers and diplomats overseas to vote by e-mail.
