Sixth Circuit Affirms District Court in Ohio Early Voting Case
In the early voting case of Obama for America v. Husted, a three-judge panel of the Sixth Circuit today issued an opinion affirming the district court's order in favor of the plaintiffs. The district court found unconstitutional an Ohio statute restricting early voting on the Saturday, Sunday, and Monday preceding Election Day. According to a majority of the Sixth Circuit panel, the district court's decision returned discretion to the county boards of elections regarding early voting on these days.
