Wisconsin Supreme Court Declines to Immediately Hear Voter ID Cases
Yesterday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court denied the state's motion to bypass the court of appeals and immediately hear two cases on the constitutionality of Wisconsin's voter ID law. The court also dismissed the state's motions to stay permanent injunctions issued by lower courts preventing the voter ID law from taking effect. The cases are League of Women Voters of Wisconsin v. Walker (see order) and Milwaukee Branch of the NAACP v. Walker (see order).
