Student Voting Issues
Student voting issues have been reported in both Ohio and
Florida. Long lines have been observed all day at the Ohio Union, a polling
site on campus at the Ohio State University. The Columbus Dispatch reported that the
wait was 90 minutes long, and that some students lacked “proper
identification.” Reuters reported that students at the University of Central
Florida were being forced to vote provisional ballots (requiring later address
verification) because their voter registration cards did not match their campus
addresses. Florida state law no longer permits voters to update their addresses
on Election Day.
