Law Faculty Hiring Lists

Drexel Law Professor Dan Filler has compiled an updated list of lateral law faculty moves at the Concurring Opinions blog. University of Illinois Professor Larry Solum has compiled a list of entry level faculty hires. Both professors have been updating their lists as they receive new information.

Guide to 2008 Presidental Contenders

The Wall Street Journal Online (WSJO) has created an online chart, Circling the Oval Office, that tracks the intentions of candidates and potential candidates for the 2008 presidential election. The website is free and is udpdated as candidates make announcements.

Value Line Database

Value Line provides investment information on approximately 1,700 equity issues; every week about 135 stocks in seven or eight industries are covered.  Upon entering the database, you are provided with monthly market performance for four markets (Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ, New York Stock Exchange Composite Index and Russell 2K) in comparison to the S&P 500; you will also be provided a search box to enter a stock ticker symbol (if you do not know the ticker symbol, you can use the “Symbol Lookup” option directly under the search box) for analysis of the same, including financial information and recent news articles.  Along the left-hand side of the site, you are provided even more options, such as links to information on mutual funds, daily options, convertibles, and exchange traded funds.

Value Line can be accessed on-campus or off-campus with proper authentication.

The NSCL identifies several others issues such as same-sex marriage and stem-cell research as "simmering and emerging issues."

Law School Website Search Engine

John Doyle at the Washington & Lee Law School Library has created a custom Google search engine that allows users to search U.S. law school websites simultaneously. It's a nice tool.
