Victor L. Streib, who stepped down as Dean at Ohio Northern University, Pettit College of Law in December 2000, was a Visiting Scholar with the Center and the College of Law during the Spring 2001 semester. Professor Streib has written extensively on issues of criminal law and juvenile justice, focusing on use of capital punishment with respect to women and children.

During his time with the Center, he conducted research on issue of women and criminal justice, in particular issues surrounding the death penalty for female offenders. One of the pieces on which he worked during his time here, titled "Addressing Sex Discrimination Issues in Death Penalty Statutes," was presented at the Ohio State Law Journal symposium on "Addressing Capital Punishment Through Statutory Reform," in March 2001.

In addition, Professor Streib presented a workshop sponsored by the Center on April 12, 2001. The title of his workshop was "Severe Punishment for Kids Who Kill." Professor Streib also spent time with Ohio State's Criminal Justice Center, which is directed by Center Fellow Ruth Peterson of the Sociology Department.
