Barbara Reskin, Professor of Sociology at Harvard University, was a Visitor at the Center during the 1999-2000 academic year. Reskin, formerly a professor of sociology at Ohio State, is a national expert on the demographic and social dimensions of labor markets, as well as on race and gender discrimination in the workplace.

While at Ohio State, she gave a faculty workshop titled "Race and Gender Inequality in Work Organizations." In addition, many faculty members benefited from Professor Reskin's regular presence at colloquia and workshops, as well as from informal exchanges with her in the halls and the faculty lounge.
