On-Campus Interviews
Finding Job Opportunities
Moritz's Fall On-Campus Interviewing Program ("OCI") brings employers to campus to interview 2L and 3L students for summer and permanent positions. Typically, an employer who interviews 14 2L students on campus will invite 4-5 to a day-long "call back" interview with members of the organization. Of those students, between 2-3 will receive offers for summer employment. The National Association for Law Placement (NALP) member firms and schools, including Ohio State, follow the guidelines for timing of acceptances and offers.
Students who have successful summer clerkships will receive offers of permanent employment in the fall of their third year. Most firms hire only as many summer clerks as they have permanent positions to offer.
Moritz's Spring Semester OCI occurs from February to March. Public and private legal employers come to campus to interview 1L, 2L and 3L students.
The 2012/2013 On Campus Interview dates are as follows:
- 2012 Fall Interview Dates
August 13-17 (Early OCI)
September 10-21 (Regular OCI)
- 2013 Spring Interview Programs
February and March 2013 (Specific dates to be determined)
Symplicity is the web-based Career Services Management System that we use to manage all aspects of the legal recruitment process. Students are given demonstrations on how to use the system before they need to register for OCI.
Prior to participating in OCI, a student needs to upload the following materials to Symplicity:
Students will also need to research employers in order to decide how to prioritize interview requests. The list of employers registered for OCI can be found in Symplicity on the OCI tab designated for each session.
