Corporate Partners

How long is the obligation? Much like a judicial clerkship, a Moritz  Corporate Fellowship typically lasts for approximately one year.

How are fellows selected? After a fellowship position is posted within  the Moritz College of Law, according to criteria established by the corporation  in consultation with Moritz’s Office of Career Services, corporate partners  will select candidates to interview and proceed with a typical hiring process.  Corporate partners have sole discretion as to whom they hire.

Is the corporate partner  required to pay the fellows? Yes.  Moritz corporate fellows are paid by the  corporations that hire them at a level commensurate with service as a fellow.

What are some of the corporations participating in the program? Recent Moritz Corporate Fellowship Program partners include:  American Electric Power, Cardinal Health, DSW, Dun & Bradstreet, Goodyear, Greif, Health Care REIT, Huntington, Medical Mutual, Nationwide, Office of University Compliance and Integrity, Proctor & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, The Andersons, The Ohio State University Office of Legal Affairs, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, and United Retirement Plan Consultants.

Who do I contact if I would like more  information? Please contact Cheri Wiles, J.D. career advisor, at wiles.65@osu.edu or (614) 247-1600.

Moritz Fellows

Who can apply for the fellowship? Fellowships are for graduating law students.

How/When do I apply? Fellowship positions are posted on the College’s Symplicity system beginning in the first semester of a student’s third year and continue to be posted as received through the month of January following graduation.

How many fellowships are available each year? The number of fellowships will vary from year to year.  Each year new corporate partners are introduced to the program and current partners evaluate their staffing needs.

Are the positions paid? Yes. Corporate partners pay the salary of  Moritz fellows.

If hired, how long am I committed to serve  as a fellow? If you accept a  Moritz Corporate Fellowship, you are expected to fulfill your obligation to the  corporation. The specific times will be discussed between you and the corporate  partner, but each fellowship is expected to last between nine and twelve months.
