2014 Lawrence Competition Winners

October 13, 2014 | Students

3Ls Josh Fravel and Ed Hebb have been named this year’s James K.L. Lawrence Competition winners following the five day annual negotiation competition Oct. 6-10. They, along with 2Ls Chris Sponseller and Matt Raby, who took second place, will now represent the Moritz College of Law at the ABA Regional Negotiations Competition in November.

Finishing in third place was the 2L team of Tyler Hall and Tyler Blair, who were narrowly edged out by Sponseller and Raby. 2Ls Dan Broidy and Danielle Dillard took fourth.

This year’s Lawrence Competition was one of the largest in recent years, with 72 students participating. The Moot Court Governing Board ran an almost flawless competition, led by Chief Justice Katie Kalbacher, Executive Competition Justice Susan Restrepo, and Executive Lawyering Skills Justice Alexi Layton. The governing board was assisted in hosting the event by Professors Josh Stulberg, Sarah Cole, Ellen Deason, Elizabeth Cooke, Paul Rose, Katherine Kelly, and Sara Sampson, who helped organize and judge the competition.
