Program on Law and Leadership welcomes Pelotonia COO
Kelley Griesmer ’93, chief operating officer of Pelotonia, will be the featured speaker at an intimate Conversation Series luncheon hosted by the Program on Law and Leadership on Feb. 4.
Griesmer will lead a group of 18-20 students in a discussion titled “Leading the Ride to End Cancer: Lessons from Pelotonia’s COO.” It will take place from 12:10 to 1:15 p.m. at the Barrister Club.
Pelotonia is a unique nonprofit organization that raises funds for cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. Founded in 2008, Pelotonia is a three-day experience that includes a weekend of cycling for thousands of riders, entertainment, and volunteerism. In its first five years, Pelotonia raised $61 million for cancer research.
Griesmer, a former partner at Jones Day, started as Pelotonia’s director of operations in 2008 and was promoted to chief operating officer three years later. Griesmer also is chair of the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio, and she has been a member of the Board of CHOICES Against Domestic Violence since 2009.
