January 5, 2017 | Events

The Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals will hear oral arguments in the case of United States v. Cox at the Moritz College of Law on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at 4 p.m. in Saxbe Auditorium. A reception is set to follow in Lou’s Cafe following the conclusion of the hearing.

Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. § 866(c), the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals conducts a de novo review of the legal and factual sufficiency of court-martial convictions. In this particular case, the Appellant challenges the legal and factual sufficiency of his conviction of involuntary manslaughter by culpable negligence, alleging that the government failed to prove that he was acting with culpable negligence when the car he was driving crashed, killing one of the passengers.
