Alumnus Named Next OSBA President

May 29, 2015 | Alumni

Ronald S. Kopp ’79, a partner at Roetzel & Andress, was chosen as the Ohio State Bar Association’s (OSBA) president-elect at the organization’s annual convention in Sandusky earlier this month. Kopp will take office as OSBA president on July 1, 2016.

He currently serves on the OSBA Board of Governors, and is chair of the board’s Budget and Headquarters Committee. Kopp is also a past president of the Akron Bar Association, and a past governor of the Akron Bar Foundation.

The Akron-based attorney has been in practice at Roetzel & Andress since 1979, where his practice has focused largely on business litigation.

Routinely included among the Top 100 Attorneys in Ohio and listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Kopp chairs the Leadership Akron Board of Trustees, a group he has been a part of since 2006. He also serves as secretary of both the John S. Knight Memorial Journalism Fund and the Welty Family Foundation.

“I can’t tell you how honored I am to be selected for this position,” Kopp told Akron Legal News. “The opportunity to represent my profession and help to improve opportunities for justice throughout our great state is a true privilege. When I was a boy, all I wanted to do was become a lawyer. I would never have imagined something this special. I’m blessed.”
