Capital Markets students learn from the best

Students in Professor Steven Davidoff’s Capital Markets class are not learning this complex area of law from a text book or lectures. They are learning from real practitioners who have spent their careers navigating the regulatory jungle of capital markets. Each week, a practitioner or leading scholar come to the classroom to share his or her experience with Professor Davidoff’s students. Attorneys from Goldman Sachs, The Limited Brands, and Davis Polk & Wardell LLP have come to class as well as leading professors from the University of Virginia, the University of California, Berkeley, and Columbia University.  In preparation for class, the students are responsible for developing and writing papers each week before class.

“We are bringing in the leading people in capital markets each week,” Davidoff said. “We are training lawyers to view the world globally. We are putting students in touch with people who can help them pursue these practice areas.”
